Hello and thanks to all who have responded! I agree that the paragraph that mentions that you don't have to initialize the variables is dangerous, especially to a newbie, so I have deleted it. I have not changed the fastcall vs. __fastcall__ discrepancy in the text because I'm not sure what the difference is (I think it has to do with whether the fastcall behavior could be overridden by a command line switch). Are there any other changes anyone would like to see in this document?
