Mainly, TortoiseSVN is only a GUI front-end for SVN. I am happily using
command-line SVN here.

Additionally, TortoiseSVN uses nearly the same UI as TortoiseCVS; thus,
I cannot recognize an advantage for SVN in this particular case.
