It is "official" in the sense that it is in the development version and will also be part of the next version. It is also in the docs. The "main() in library" scenario is not mentioned, but the gcc docs don't mention it either. Please have a look at ld65.sgml and, if you think that there needs to be more information, just add it or send me a patch.
