I've applied the patches for 2, 3 and 4a. as suggested by Greg King. While doing so, I noticed quite a few other problems with the linuxdoc tools as they're current under Centos/RedHat 5. One of the more interesting ones is that creating info documents yields two warning messages about stuff that apparently comes with linuxdoc but no output: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ uz@trixie:~/src/cc65/doc$ ls -l vic20.* -rw-rw-r-- 1 uz uz 7073 Feb 15 17:42 vic20.sgml uz@trixie:~/src/cc65/doc$ linuxdoc -B info vic20.sgml Processing file vic20.sgml gawk: /usr/share/linuxdoc-tools/info.awk:31: warning: escape sequence `\{' treated as plain `{' gawk: /usr/share/linuxdoc-tools/info.awk:32: warning: escape sequence `\}' treated as plain `}' uz@trixie:~/src/cc65/doc$ ls -l vic20.* -rw-rw-r-- 1 uz uz 7073 Feb 15 17:42 vic20.sgml ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Generating .tex or .dvi output fails for several files, because for these targets it seems that the text following the <author> tag must be on one line. In the long run, there's probably no other choice than to change the tool used to generate the docs.
