Perhaps there is something done during crt0 or a constructor that depends either the SAVMSC or SDLSTL having proper values? Anyhow, thanks anyway. I'm going to try to approach this in a different way. Opening the editor from with crt0.s, before the library constructors run DOES work. That is how I solved the problem initially, but I want a more elegant solution. I think adding a conditional (on a command line switch) piece of code to the maxflash kit (exeunpak.a65 specifically) is the way to go. > If it works I could add this function to the Atari > runtime lib. I have no doubt that your procedure works (my program runs fine from DOS with the _txtinit call in it), however it doesn't solve my particular problem. So whether or not you add it to the library is up to you. -- Shawn Jefferson __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Personals - Better first dates.
