Mono runs on Windows and UNIX variants. There is JIT support for x86,
PowerPC, S390 and SPARC, and with interpreters for HPPA and StrongARM.
While it doesn't support as many platforms as GNU make (notably Amiga,
OS/2, and DOS are missing, unsure about QNX and BeOS), it would be
fair to say that it would work for most cc65 developers. And those who
prefer make aren't exactly forced to switch.

Alternatives are good.
