Not to be rude but for Gods sake man, update! ;-) The latest version of atari800 is 1.2.5 and I can report that it's _much_ better even though the config file still isn't named .atari800. It seems that the most critical fixes were in version 1.2.3, Antic code speedups and SDL cleanup. It still has some interesting quirks. You have to start it from the folder where you've got atari800.cfg though it shouldn't be too hard to get it to use ~/.atari800 instead.
