This is a general problem in the 6502 world (and probably in other worlds too). Having too many options is difficult for both, developers and users. While it is nice to see what is technically possible, many options mean that the already scarce developer resources for the old 6502 machines are even more diverted. > I've been thinking about sticking a 16550 in the > SID socket -- a small riser board with some extra decoder logic to put > the 16550 at $d480. > Yet another one of those projects I'll never finish 8) I don't know about the SilverSurfer card, but I've ordered and received my Retro Replay some days ago, which is a finished project and available. And it is definitely a very nice device. It is compatible with the old Action Reply, there is software support (it does also support the old AR ROM binaries), and it looks very cool (black and golden - it would be a pity to hide it a case). The web pages at ar.c64.org do look really ugly and are hard to read, if one has not the same environment than the web page author, but that's another story.
