Slight OT, but I saw ide hardware for my beloved zx-spectrum made from only
few wires ;).

It used only a lower 8bit of data width though, so it halved hdd capacity :<
But the idea is neat.

More fascinating was smart media card reader (or some other ram card...). It
was blazing fast and easy to made.
