The file type has never been specified when reading. Which makes me wonder
somewhat about Groepaz' complaints. How can there be problems file type
problems opening files for reading when the file type isn't specified?

The file type is specified fo append mode. Fixing this isn't a big issue, but
I'm not sure if it is really helpful considering the above. Maybe someone with
more CBM DOS knowldge is able to comment ...

No problem. I've changed the file type to 's'.
