I for one think it would be awesome if there would be two separate libraries for this - one ROMable and one SMC. Just like some desktop toolchains have Release and Debug libraries. The benefit of SMC is so great on the C64, it would be sad not to take advantage of it if possible. However, I respect that it is a huge undertaking.
