It seems like you are not aware that "my" Contiki 2.4 binary
distribution for cc65 targets comes with a working (incl. DNS) wget
application ?!?

The source is part of the recent Contiki 2.5rc1. Check it out to see
how complex a simple Contiki application actually is!
