[cc65] cc65 + tcp/ip howto and/or example

I'd like to write a simple tcp client using cc65 for commodore 64. As far as
I know uIP can be used for this purpose, however I am a bit confused after
some minutes of digging its source and documentation.  Is there any simple
example and/or howto which describes the process of coding such a thing
somewhere?  Or is there a better solution for me which is more suitable the
described need of mine than uIP?  Currently I would like to test my program
using VICE since it seems to support of ethernet emulation (I lack any real
hardware currently, but I'm planning to get it later if it's worth for me to
have, ie: I have some working code ...).
