That is true of some other targets, too (such as the Commodore 128).  Also,
even where text and graphics share RAM, if there are two screen pages, then
only one of them might need to be cleared.

This issue was discussed a long time ago.  I thought that we had agreed,
back then, that the graphics screens shouldn't be cleared automatically!
