I've been stumbling over the CREDITS file for some specific reason and remembered that it hasn't been updated for some time. When looking over it, I noticed that updating it becomes somewhat difficult. The CREDITS file has a few sections that cover contributors more or less by the importance of contributions. Because the oldest entries are really old (>10 years?) I'm no longer able to really compare older and newer contributions. Additionally, some of the text which describes contributions in more detail is obsolete, because these peoples have in the meantime contributed much more important things than what is mentioned in the file. Next thing is that I will have to go through years of mailing list postings to decide to which section a new entry has to be added, which is tedious and sometimes unfair (I may overlook something). How do other projects handle this? The easiest thing would be to have just one big list, but this may be unfair to the people who have spent a considerable amount of time adding new features or helping debug the code. Any suggestions? Regards Uz P.S.: If you have contributed to cc65 with code, ideas or bug reports, and are not listed in the CREDITS file, you're invited to drop me a mail, so I can add you. Contributions are important, not only because of themselves, but because they're a source of motivation. -- Ullrich von Bassewitz uz@musoftware.de ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@musoftware.de with the string "unsubscribe cc65" in the body(!) of the mail.Received on Tue Jan 5 12:49:38 2010
