That's why I use svn for that :-P But - seriously - I really suggest you try it. It is so dead simple to enter the working dir and issue one command "svu", which in my case is a shortcut (alias) for "svn update" to get the latest revision. No downloading everything (also unchanged stuff), unpacking, etc. As a side effect you also see what files have changed.
