[cc65] Source level debugging?

Hi all,

from the docs and some posts at 2000/2001 i gathered that there 
currently is no source level debugger available for cc65 projects.

I just wanted to ask if, in the meantime, someone created such
a beast or is planning to do so (C64 target)

With my limited experience in C, such a feature would probably
speed up my debugging a lot.
