[cc65] irq calling c function

I've programmed an raster-irq routine, which calls a c-function.
From irq routine some mem-location are beeing overwritten, so i
made the program save the whole zp-segment to another area
and then copy it back, when the irq finishs.
Is that the appropriate way in doing this or is there eventually
a routine in the standard lib which is dedicated for this task?
