[cc65] Template for MAKE files?

I've finally set up a Linux box for my CC65 development stuff and want to start using proper make files with it.  Does anyone have any make file templates for CC65 that they are willing to share?

Also, I'm new to MAKE and know that Linuxy stuff has really cool tools for auto-generating make files.  Can someone point me to a good tutorial on using these tools?
