Yes, the idea is good. But there must be a way to extend the defaults, since some of the tools need extra arguments (usally -Dsymbol=val). BTW.: I've applied a makefile patch from Greg King. It includes a working test for sgmltools, and a better check for root permissions when installing. Should be in the next snapshot.
