Greg King has notified me that there is a typo in the basic library routine used to format strings (xsprintf.c). Two characters in the hex conversion table are swapped. It's the lower case table, and most of the tools use upper case hex chars, but I'm not able to check each and every use of the routine, so to avoid problems, there will be a new minor version with this bug fixed in the next few days.
