At least as far as I understand there currently isn't any cc65 C library
support at all for Apple GS/OS. So file I/O support for ProDOS16 doesn't
really seem to be an issue - does it?

In fact I've been thinking about file I/O support for DOS 3.3, but I haven't
really started coding and I don't think I'll do it anytime soon.

Probably I can try to give you some hints from my own experience:

- Everything that has a "standard" name needs to have the "standard"
functionality, not less but not more as well.
- There really needs to be a very good reason for adding new "non-standard"
functionality.

For example the dio_get_file_info() you proposed in another mail could have
a hard time making it into the cc65 C library - even if it already exists
for the Atari.
