hey gang I hope someone in Commie land can help me. I recently downloaded and xfered ACE and a UNIX( c 1994) archives from the main commodore ftp site (that i know of) on the 'net. The ACE program starts to load with a title screen, but then it stops and I believe just "hangs" on my c128 machine (do i need a special ver of the c=128 hardware?) The UNIX program (with a copyright date of 1994) doesn't work either. I cannot load the docs for these programs because I run out of memory trying to load them. So, my questions are: 1) Do I need 512k to run a unix shell ? 2) Do I need a special chip set to use these programs? 3) Am I not doing what I should be to get them running? 4) How can I get to read the docs? I would like to get a Unix OS going on my C=128. I have seen much postings with unix-style paths so I KNOW someone in commie land is getting them to werk!!! Any help MUCH appreciated!
