This looks like a really clever solution, congrats!
I've looked over it several times, and think it will indeed work. There's a
minor problem (the linker will warn if there are no HEAP/HEAPEND segments),
but this is easy to solve. BTW: I will probably add a "required = yes/no"
attribute to the linker config, so it is no longer necessary to define empty
segments somewhere just to silence the linker.
Unfortunately, I'm somewhat busy with other things currently, so please be
patient. cc65 related feature requests start to pile up, and some of them
(like MagerValps "jmp (xxx)" warning) are quite some work.
