i thought about something simelar aswell..... that is, i'd like a nice
interface for using the AR (or RR respectivly) memory .... i had
certain headaches though with designing an interface that would both
work well and be still portable enough.... (one would think that such
kinda interface should also be handle to handle several types of
expansion memory aswell..... think of a system with scpu, AR and REU
for example..... or even a C128 with reu (could use VDC mem and REU))

by the way... i got a beginning of a gfx-library laying around,
including o-so-famous rotating vector cube (runs surprsingly fast
considering the line-algo is made in C atm!) - i'll put that on the
ftp in some days, have to finish another project before ;=)
