No, if I had done so, the beta1 binaries would not have had the problem caused by the macros, because gcc does real inlining of functions. I'm using the Watcom compiler to generate 32 bit Windows, OS/2 and DOS binaries. Watcom C++ is no longer available as a commercial product, but in my opinion it was a great compiler and very flexible. Sybase is planning to offer the sources for the compiler (see http://www.openwatcom.org/).
