I don't know either but I thought you are the maintainer of the 
compiler!?

There are counterparts for the BASIC commands LOAD, SAVE, OPEN, CLOSE 
and functions to read/write bytes from/to an open file.

To Udo: take a look at the cbm.h file in the include directory - if the 
functions are included in the stable version then you should find them 
along with a short description of each.
