Thanks a lot, but to get that right: I'm not responsible for VICE. I've submitted some bug reports and patches to get the VICE monitor working, and I've also submitted some suggestions for minor changes that enhance compatibility between the monitor and cc65, but apart from that I'm not involved with VICE development. But I do also think that VICE is great and I do appreciate the work of the VICE team a lot!
